Last Minute Prep

I'm at less than 40 hours from going to O'Hare and taking my last step on American soil for all of July so it was high time I made my final preparations.

After spending a fabulous three days in Lake Geneva for the Regional Intern Conference I had a lot of preparing to do; I started with my fingertips. Many of the materials I've read about Brazil stress the importance of keeping a tidy appearance and how most women have manicures. This was all the encouragement I needed. My mother, sister, and I had all received gift cards for manicures at Mario Tricocci for Christmas from my Aunt Laura so we put them to good use and took a small step in the process of getting me ready for my Brazilian oddessey.

While at the conference Danny (pledge dad, tax intern, and good friend), Laura (Detriot tax intern, new friend), and I met during a break and planned some weekend vacations. Our first weekend below the Equator we are traveling to Rio de Janiero (I will be sure to give you the play by play in the blog), and the second weekend we are traveling to the border of Argentina and Brazil to visit Iguazu Falls which should be breathtaking.

There is a lot to do but I have no doubt it will all be worth it and in one month when I am reflecting on my month abroad I will have seen great sights, had both success and failures, made unforgettable friends, and been changed. Very exciting.
