Brazilian Drinks

Brazil doesn't only have new foods to try but plenty of new drinks to wash your feijoada down with.

A couple of days ago I tried cashew juice for the first time. My mentor, Fernando, told me that the cashew's nuts grow on the end of a red fruit and that is what the juice was made of. The juice wasn't very sweet or flavorful and almost milky and it is consumed along with orange juice at breakfast.

Tap water in Sao Paulo is not potable, which is quite a hassle. I have a bunch of giant water bottles in my room and in the office there are water coolers everywhere. Another popular way to drink water is in these little plastic cups with foil on the top. Basically is a portable potable cup of water.

Coffee is also different here in Brazil. Here the cups are very small, like espresso, and usually packed with sugar and caffeine. I almost like this better than our weak American coffee and I get a lot of it because we have a free coffee maker in our office.
